Psalm 46

"God (Creator, All Knowing King, & All Powerful Father) is (has been, is right now, & will be) our (Israelites, His people) Refuge (place of safety and rest) & Strength (strong and able), a very present Help (Guide, Aid, & Rescuer) in trouble, (battles, war, death, sickness, depression, anger, frustration, confusion, persecution, strife, etc.)

Therefore (our resolve) we will not fear (Look Who is on our side!!) though
-the earth gives way,
-the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
-the waters roar and foam,
- & the mountains tremble at its swelling.
(Even though everything falls apart, 'we will not fear'.)

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God (Jerusalem), the holy habitation (where He dwells) of the Most High (literally no One higher).

God (Lord, Messiah, & 'I Am') is (has been, is right now, & will be) in the midst of her (His dwelling place); she shall not be moved (declaration);

God (Holy & Mighty Friend) will (not 'can', but 'will') help her when morning dawns.

1. The nations rage,
2. The kingdoms totter;
3. He utters His voice, the earth melts (the whole earth, in its entirety).

The Lord of hosts is (has been, is right now, & will be) with us (The God of all glory, Who has authority over everything, is with us!!!! Get Him out of your small box, He IS! John 8:58);

The God (Everlasting, Hope, & Infinite) of Jacob is (has been, is right now, & will be) our Fortress (where we run to).

Come, (you are invited!) behold ("see") the works of the Lord,
~how He has brought desolations on the earth.
~He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
~He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
~He burns the chariots with fire (as in Exodus 14)
(He is mighty).

(Our action) 'Be still, and know ('look back on Who I've been and on what I've done) that I am God. I will (a promise) be exalted (lifted up) among the nations, I will be exalted (glorified) in the earth!'

(Again) The Lord of hosts is (has been, is right now, & will be) with us;

The God (Ruler, Controller, & Holder) of Jacob is (has been, is right now, & will be) our Fortress (our Place, our Home, our Constant Support, our Steady Help, our Fervent Guide, our Caring Leader our Majestic Father, our Safe Place, our Refuge, & our Hope)."
